I worked in the states for a year and am now back in my own country. I know that I need to file for tax back but don’t know how to go about it or when the cut off date is. Any help?

I guess you are referring to income tax return. It is due on April 15, 2008.

If you owe, the statute runs from when you file.
If you are expecting a refund, the maximum is 3 years from the due date. So 2004 filers need to get their act together before 4/15/2008.

There is never a “cut off date”, but if you file late that will be a penalty.
