Have you watched these videos on youtube regarding income tax?

07 Jun

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZl6202HJGQ

I’ve recently contacted the director of the google video zeitgeist and asked him to clarify statements made in his film regarding illegal taxation because I felt it could potentially be harmful to viewers. He then countered my position and told me about a 300k challenge, providing links to other compelling videos on the subject concerning the laws. I don’t know, but would be interested in hearing from others who might know more about the subject. I pay my taxes, as I always have but I’d like to know why and how others are not and how this attorney was ‘not guilty’ when he took on the IRS. Any comments?
vb.. i only post in the hopes that someone who knows more than i do will shed some light. I think it is worthwhile to look at both sides of a debate and weigh the evidence rather than blindly believing one side or the other. Hence my questions…
vb: please don’t make assumptions about what my ‘hopes’ or intentions are. I think it is plain for everyone to see. I’m asking a question because I have seen some interesting videos and I don’t have an answer. I also put it forth that I felt if people did not do their research that it could be potentially harmful. No hidden agenda here… just wanting the truth.
*chuckles rtfm Thanks for your post and I will check your links. Part of the reason for posting on a public forum is to hear both sides. No… I am not the director of the video but I did find several parts of the video interesting, particularly because in the first section of the video it validated many things I had studied about religion over a period of ten years. The other sections of the video were about things I knew less about and so decided to ask others. Its really that simple.

Will Hillary Rodham Clinton raise capital gains tax rates; Bill Clinton lowered these rates?

03 Jun

During the 70’s and 80’s Democrats said lower capital gains taxes were a tax cut for the rich. Bill went against conventional wisdom and supported lower capital gains tax. This proved a good move that contributed to a strong economy. Hillary appears to indirectly imply she will raise these rates and jepardize the economy.

If Chicago was run by Republicans do you think these things would go un reported?

31 May

Chicago…. Who Runs it?

Senators: Barack Obama & Dick Durbin
Representative: Jesse Jackson, Jr.
Illinois Governor: Rod Blogojevich (arrested)
Illinois House leader: Mike Madigan
Illinois Attorney General: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike)
Chicago Mayor: Richard M. Daley (son of Mayor Richard J. Daley)

The leadership in Illinois ? All Democrats.

Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago .

Body count in the last six months: 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago 221 killed in Iraq

State pension fund – $44 Billion in debt, worst in the country.

Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax – 10.25% highest in country. (L ook it up).

Chicago school system – rated one of the worst in the country. (Obama has selected the head of the Chicago school system as his Education Secretary.)

Of course, they’re all blaming each other. They can’t blame Republicans because there aren’t any.

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois . And he’s going to ‘”fix” Washington politics for us?

Good luck and may God help us.

Does anyone know anything about these firms that specialize in helping people out of tax problems?

28 May

I had a serious situation last year which prevented me from paying my taxes entirely and now my husband has been out of work for medical reasons and we can’t keep up with paying the back tax. Are any of these firms that specialize in helping taxpayers by dealing with the the IRS real or are they scams? We don’t know where to turn. The IRS is threatening to levy my income -our only source of income which means we can’t pay mortage, car payments, electric, etc. Anyone?

How would I report these tips on my federal tax return?

12 Apr

I am supposed to file any tips that I didn’t report to my employer on my federal tax return. I work at a grocery store, and sometimes help customers out with their groceries. Every now and then a nice old lady will give me 50 cents or a dollar. I don’t know exactly how much I would have made from this last year, probably only about $5. How should I handle this on my return?

Thanks.
I’m 100% sure that it is an amount less than $20, but I believe that I still have to report it as it affects my adjusted gross income.

What do you think of these people?

Subject: What a den of thieves! What a den of thieves! Somebody spent a lot of time putting this together. Pretty good summary of what is known – how much more is hidden? $34,000 : The amount of federal taxes that Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner (D) failed to pay during his employment at the International Monetary Fund despite receiving extra compensation and explanatory brochures that described his tax liabilities. True: cleveland.com/nation/index.ssf/2009/01/timothy_geithner_obamas_nomine.html
$75,000:The amount of money that the head of the powerful
tax-writing committee, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY), was
forced to report on his taxes after the discovery that he
had not reported income from a Dominican Republic rental
property. His excuses for the failure started with blaming
his wife, then his accountant and finally the fact that he
didn’t speak Spanish. True: nypost.com/seven/09102008/news/regionalnews/rangels_spanish_excuse_128444.htm $93,000:

Congressional representatives voted to give themselves in
January 2009 during the height of an economic meltdown.

only a few years time, Fannie also “invested” over $105,000
in then-Senator Barack Obama.

$83,333 in unreported income, and $14,963 in charitable
contributions.

$800,000: The amount of “sweetheart” mortgages Senate Banking
Chairman Chris Dodd (D-CT) received from Countrywide
Financial, the details for which he has refused to release
details despite months of promises to do so. Countrywide
was once the nation’s largest mortgage lender and linked
to Government-Sponsored Entities like Fannie Mae and
Freddie Mac. Their meltdown precipitated the current
financial crisis. Just days ago in Pennsylvania ,
Countrywide was forced to pay $150,000,000 in mortgage
assistance following “a state investigation that concluded
that Countrywide relaxed its underwriting standards to
sell risky loans to consumers who did not understand them

Are these questions to the IRS logical and reasonable?

18 Mar

A person goes into the IRS office with a 1040 filled out except for the signature.

The following questions are proposed:

I am not sure if I am required to fill out this 1040 Form. My friends told me that I must.

What is the Code section that indicates a Form 1040 is required?

Before signing the form, I read on the Form that I would be signing it under penalty of perjury.

By signing the 1040, would be giving up my right to be silent under the 5th Amendment ?

(A suspected murderer would not have to do or say anything.)

Will an IRS offocial sign a statement, under penalty of perjury, indicating my requirements and the Chapter and Section that states my requirements?

In other words, other than my friends, who in the IRS or what section of the IRS Code would lead me to believe that I am liable for paying an Income Tax, and because of this requirement, indicate my requirement to fill out and sign (under penalty) a 1040 Form?

H.S. Student.

Do you approve of these tactics?

09 Mar

Well, it looks like the Obama campaign is pulling out all the stops…and they’ll most likely get away with it.

Illegal get-out-the-vote drives are being held in swing state mosques, Central Ohioans Against Terrorism is reporting:

The group, Muslim Americans for Obama, has announced a series of “get out the vote” events at mosques in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, and Ohio this week during Ramadan celebrations. As can be seen in the announcement reprinted below, the organization admits these are “get out the vote” events masquerading as “voter registration”:

Muslim Americans for Obama will be working to get out the vote for Sen. Obama, and they need help registering voters! Volunteers need not be Muslim, though appropriate attire is advised (no sleeveless tops; long pants and ankle-length skirts recommended). These get out the vote events, of course, flagrantly violate the tax exempt status of these participating mosques, including our own local Noor Islamic Cultural Center, which are strictly prohibited from supporting or endorsing any kind of partisan political activity — even when they claim it is only “voter registration”. In fact, it was these kinds of activities that eventually sunk the Christian Coalition’s tax exempt status with the IRS.

Voter registration drives at religious institutions are only legal if the organization is non-partisan.

“Muslims for Obama”, the sponsor of these events, is unquestionably a partisan organization, and thus, any participation by these mosques is illegal and violates their tax exempt status. Additionally, since the Muslims for Obama announcement says that these voter registration drives are intended to “get out the vote for Sen. Obama”, they are considered partisan under the law and illegal on that basis as well – in addition to the fact that these events are sponsored by a partisan organization.

Is anybody going to do anything about this?

Who are the attorney generals in the states involved?

Nancy H. Rogers, D, Ohio.

Mike Cox, R. Michigan

Andrew Cuomo, D. New York

Tom Corbitt, R. Pennsylvania

Ann Milgram, D. New Jersey

Bob McDonnell, R. Virginia

Via: Gateway Pundit, who also reports:

More… Ohio Obama supporters are dragging homeless people off the streets in to vote.

and:

It figures… The Iraqi Parliament just banned using mosques during election times:

…The law includes a provision that allocates 25 percent of the seats to women and a prohibition on the use of mosques, pictures of clerical leaders and government institutions during the campaign season. But, they don’t have Barack Obama on the ballot.

Andrew McCarthy reports on Obama’s “funny money”:

My pal Diana West points me to Ken Timmerman’s must-read Newsmax column — which naturally is getting no coverage in the MSM — about Sen. Obama’s eye-popping fundraising operation. Bottom line: the would-be President of the World is raising goo-gobs of money from foreigners outside the United States (a violation of federal law), and matching goo-gobs of money inside the United States from phantoms who are blowing out the individual contribution limits by, among other devices, making up identies and breaking up contributions in amounts less than $200, for which reporting requirements are less rigorous.

According to Ken, the Obama campaign has raised nearly half a billion
dollars ($429.6M) but refuses to provide the names of most of the
donors. Election law requires the campaign to track this information
but not for it to disclose the names of those who donate less than
$200, which is most Obama donors. (Sen. McCain discloses the names of all donors.) The Obama campaign has raised millions upon millions of dollars from outside the United States. Only Americans living overseas may lawfully contribute, but because the Obama vetting machinery is negligent (or worse), the probability is that enormous sums are coming from foreigners. The campaign knows the FEC is a lethargic agency and won’t have a full accounting until perhaps years after the election.

This typifies the domestic fundraising issue:

In
a letter dated June 25, 2008, the FEC asked the Obama campaign to
verify a series of $25 donations from a contributor identified as
“Will, Good” from Austin, Texas. Mr. Good Will listed his employer as
“Loving” and his profession as “You.”

A Newsmax analysis of the
1.4 million individual contributions in the latest master file for the
Obama campaign discovered 1,000 separate entries for Mr. Good Will,
most of them for $25. In total, Mr. Good Will gave $17,375.

Following
this and subsequent FEC requests, campaign records show that 330
contributions from Mr. Good Will were credited back to a credit card.
But the most recent report, filed on Sept. 20, showed a net cumulative
balance of $8,950 — still well over the $4,600 limit.

Blah. Go read the entire thing if your heart can tak
