Tax Attorney Long Island

I attend college in Memphis, TN, and is on the verge of taking a course on how to prepare taxes so I’ll be certified. I am also trying to supplement my income while in school to get my own place. Generally speaking, how much do income tax prepares make in the Memphis area? Anyone who is experienced is encouraged to give good veteran advice.

I looked on a tax table that the tax is 25% for 2009. Is this true?
So if I make $1462.00 gross bi-weekly. So If I am write this would
be over $365 each paycheck in federal taxes. Am I correct or did
I calculate wrong. I do not want to spend no more that $250 for total
deductions.

been working straight for the past year and will continue to do so. im looking forward to income tax season already. need a lawyer. any way. i usually get about 700, but had a baby, took a 2 week maternity leave, and back to work i went. when you added your child, how much more did you see on your return when you added your child???

I bought a condo for $36K and sold it around the same price with sales cost (documentation and all) which cost me about $200….

I’m going to be filing for divorce with a divorce attorney because I don’t even know where to begin.
We were married in New Mexico 12-06 and I am now in Ohio with our child and have been since 6-07. So I haven’t even seen him in a year and a half and have no clue where to find him.
I just want the quickest easiest divorce possible, but I know they aren’t cheap. Please give me any ideas? I’d like to get it started with my tax rebate

Do the IRS tax your personal income by dollar per dollar, meaning for every dollar, they tax 17% out of the whole, or is it based on a certain income bracket?

For example, if I make 1,500 per month, I will be tax 17%; but if I make 1,501, I will be tax 18%?

Or is it a flat tax where if I belong in a certain income bracket, I will only need to pay the same amount of tax as other in the same bracket. Such as a person, earning 1,500 will pay $200 taxes and I earning $2,000 will also pay $200? The cap on the bracket is $2,500 and if you make $2,501 you will be tax $300

Really confuse here. I might be going about this all wrong. Please help me to understand the average person income tax?

2. Is the income year counted from Jan to Dec?
3. When is to file it? What is the benefit for filing it?
4. I earned roughly 1000 dollars last year. Do I have to file tax return for that year?

Tax return had been prepared in the past by my father who was involved with the business (ins agency, 2 employees) .He is no longer working here, and in figuring out future cots, I am curious as to the cost to have our corporate tax return prepared each year and how long does it take to have it done. To process a divorce where one of the persons is MIA. The woman left and a guy needs to file the papers and put the adds in the paper saying he searched for her. The woman has no interest in answering the adds. How much would a family attorney charge?
