Is An Attorney General Required To Give Tax Payers Information Regarding Laws That Effect Their Work?

I am trying to conduct a canvas in the state of Michigan. I represent a non-profit organization. We are doing community outreach and also planning on soliciting some small donations from our neighbors. I have e-mailed our attorney general to determine the legality of solicitations and the staff has not e-mailed back.

Get on the attorney general website. See if you can find someone called the OMBUSMAN. Most dept of state goverrnment has this person. His/her job is to help people get answers to their questions.
